The Christian God's Priorities by Atamolos The Christian God's Priorities by Atamolos
So the Christian God is both omnipotent and omnibenevolent, yet he allows such suffering to exist in the world while others are more concerned about the outcome of a sporting event?  It almost seems like God is simply a reflection of the priorities and ideals of the worshipers.

Felt this would be fitting for the day of the Superbowl, which happens to be a Sunday.

I always wondered that myself... if god is rooting for one particular team to win, does that mean he hates the other one?  Now THAT would make for an interesting game...

I could see the running back break through the line and heading for an apparent touchdown when suddenly <BOOM!!> he spontaneously combusts five yards from the end zone!

Gives new meaning to when the cheerleaders yell "rah-rah-sis-BOOM-bah"!   :D

In an objective way you are right, if they make 10 children per woman in Africa,
there is of course hunger lol.

They are captured in the transition between primitive and modern worlds,
they have partly modern technology and medicine to keep many alive,
but still primitive societies, so they have way too many children and awful
conditions. Their leaders use that to make money, and let the normal people
starve.

I think it's bad management too, If you want to help someone, let them do it for them self!

I heard there a huge number of Germans going to for Sex Tourism in Africa.

If you so want God to give justice to everyone so suffering could end there would be no person alive on this earth. He is in control of everything and wants to have mercy on everyone. He loves even the people that make these children starve! His son died even for them as ludicrous as it could seem to some. And christians, inspired by that mercy, show mercy by building lots of hospitals and funding causes that help people like these. Christianity in whole (catholics, orthodox and protestant) probably has made more charity than anything else in this cruel world. So my friend I would kindly say to you with no offense that this post is somewhat ignorant. Honest, but ignorant.

Well, Bill Gates gives billions to charity, and he is not Christian. I guess, anyone who's not christian is inferior and should be exterminated, right?

Ummm, and other christians inspired by this mercy take away gay people's freedom, make gay marriage illegal, make violent protests, and bully atheist people saying that they'rte going to burn in hell. Also, Jesus didn't die for anybody. He revived  after 3 days. And how torturing a beard man is going to make us more pure? I can torture my self and I cab say that i die for your sins. And yes, you are dodging the question like mostly any other christian would, becouse they can't say "Yes, you are right.". Booooom ! Your mind is blown now.

Yes, me too... In their...religious..."zeal" they try to bring glory to God. But they do exactly the otherwise. I don't judge them, but I know the Bible encourages to hate sin, not people.
What you should call a christian is a person in whom you see Jesus.

No, you can never answer a question by dodging it.

The point is, no all-loving god would allow such pointless suffering, so we are faced with either a) there is no god or b) if there is a god, it is not all-loving.

You can answer a question by dodging it. You just dont see the answer my friend.

Suffering isn't God's fault. It's men who cause it. I believe God allows them, because even they need mercy. But His mercy and patience are not endless and then comes the part of God you wish to see - justice. Yes - sooner or later everyone gets what they deserve. Those who don't in this world, get it afterwards. And Hell IS real my friend. It's not just a story to sate the opressed's wrath.
As long as man is sinful - suffering will never end. God does move in this world, greatly. You just don't hear of it. I've seen miraculous healings with my own eyes. Prophesies coming true. God moving in people's life. You would ask why does God allow reckless men to do their thing? I've seen reckless men become as loving and amazing as the bible's heroes. Those were former drunks, wife-beaters, stealers, criminals, junkies. At least that's what I see in my church. I'm sure others have even greater stories. :)

Dodging a question is never a way to answer it by definition.

The fault is irrelevant.  If your claims are true then God is both omnipotent and omnibenevolent, but he does nothing (or at least very little) to alleviate such pointless tribulation.  I think you'd be hard-pressed to find a reason that homeless Africans "deserve" starvation and disease.  These propositions are logically incompatible.

Life isn't fair man. Innocent people suffer the consequences of powerful men's greed and mistakes. Many times with their lives. Did you hear me say that was fair? I didn't say they deserved it. I gave you examples of what happens only in my church (500 people). There are thousands more churches. If you're relying on media you wont truly know what happens in the world in full. Most important things are often hidden or not explosed too much. The stories I've heard from missionaries all around the world who are guests sometimes in our church are amazing. All around the world God makes amazing things if people let Him in their lives. Injustice and misery is the result of disobedience to Him. It's what people make of their lives and to the lives of others when they disregard His rules, morals, authority.
I'd bet that if God came and fixed everything the way He wants it right now most people will be guilty. The ones avoiding the judgement are christians who have accepted Jesus' payment of their sins, in whom the Holy Spirit lives.
It's just not that simple - God gives time for everyone - even for the Hitlers. But most Hitlers don't really change, hence their short, sad lives and most probable damnation afterwards.

As god doesn't exist, why ask the question?

Kids starve because it is often very difficult for human beings to solve human problems.  True, religion doesn't help, as it is usually used as an excuse not to help other people, no matter what the Christians claim -- or, if they help, it always comes with religious strings attached. :(

"It almost seems like God is simply a reflection of the priorities and ideals of the worshipers."

You pretty much summed it up with that statement. Might I add, it seems as if god is a reflection of his followers' apathy for worldly affairs. Although there are some Christians who truly act Christ-like, and very few unfortunately, there are the other ones who prefer to bend the knees to pray the problem away. But tell them a gay couple is moving a few blocks away and watch them rise from their knees to persecute the gay couple away because the lord knows a gay couple is more problematic than cancer, famine, or war.
